What is rebranding?

Rebranding, in short, is about creating or updating the identity of a brand with the intention of developing a new, differentiated identity in the minds of consumers. Often, this involves radical changes to a brand’s logo, name, image, marketing strategy, and advertising themes.

Don’t worry, we have not changed any of our products and services, they just look a bit different 😉

Why have we rebranded SOWISO?

SOWISO is a business founded in The Netherlands. SOWISO has provided students with personalised maths e-learning for over 9 years. During these 9 years, a lot has changed in the EdTech industry and its customers. It is important for us to keep up with those changes, and that is why we decided to redefine our current brand and optimise it in order to provide our users with great user experience. 

What has changed?


In short, every visual that we have has changed, some examples are; our website, the user interface of the platform, business card, flyers, posters etc.

Our Mission

Our mission is composed out of three pillars; support, engage and learn. We support students by helping them realise their full potential in their studies and in society. We engage students by creating interactive and engaging content on top of innovative technology. Altogether, we provide the best learning experience for everyone with personalised learning.

We added a new trademark: Bolster Academy!

The past few years we also started working with international educational institutes and we are still growing rapidly in Europe and Australia alike. But SOWISO is a name that was originally composed for teachers and learners in The Netherlands.

SOWISO is a Dutch abbreviation for “software for maths education”. Now that we operate in an international market we decided that we need an international trademark, for this reason, we added Bolster Academy as our international trademark. 

The word ‘bolster’ has multiple meanings, e.g. to help, to support, to strengthen, to boost, to sustain and to maintain. These all describe how we see our role in the learning process. These words embody our values and vision.

Academy means school or institute, specifically in higher education, which is the level of education in which we create the most impact with our learning environment. Bolster and Academy together describe the essence of our company. See for more information about Bolster Academy. 

How will this influence me as a user?

It will improve your experience when using our products and services. We focussed a lot on improving the user experience across all our channels, including the cloud platform. 

We have changed the styling of our platform to match accordingly with our new brand identity. For now, these are only minor changes but expect to see more improvement in the upcoming months! If you want to stay updated on User Interface changes, please subscribe to our mailing list here.
