In the last few months we created six new exercise types in SOWISO. Next to our formula input, graph input and multiple choice types, we now extended our exercise range with: drag and drop, fill in the gap, rank sort, group sort, essay and file upload. Of course, all types can easily be created within our authoring environment and are fully compliant with our PDF-export functionality. Here’s a short explanation per type with some screenshots:
Drag and drop
Items must be dragged to designated drop areas. Items are pieces of html, so they can be plain text, images or formulas.
Fill in the gap
Pieces of text must be typed inline with the question text. To better support text evaluation we also extended our evaluation types with text case sensitive, text case insensitive and contains text.
One or more lists must be ordered in a particular rank with dragging. Additionally, informational lists that not need to be sorted can be placed in between the other lists.
Items must be sorted by dragging them to designated groups.
Write a story in plain text. In the exercise practice setting, the correct answer is shown when asked for and the student can self-rate his answer by comparing the correct answer with his own. In a test setting, a teacher can grade the exercise.
Files (PDFs or images) can be uploaded within a test. Handy for homework assignments!
This brings the total of the supported exercise types in SOWISO to 17!
We will keep extending this range of possibilities and of course we’ll keep you posted.
